h e a l 

h e a l  is a series of collaged monoprints made during lockdown in early 2021.  The body of prints is inspired by the healing and meditative power of Tantric Art and abstraction, and stimulation through unexpected and spontaneous  juxtapositions. 

 

Having just moved to Oban,  into isolation in an unfamiliar place, creating became a form of respite.  However, with little energy and stimulation, it became difficult to formulate new visions.  Renuka had saved printed offcuts from previous projects and began to create visual compositions as a form of meditative play.  Each composition was adjusted until it felt 'complete'.  With the trail of the pandemic, the rich assemblage of colour, texture and shape were tributes to previous moments of inspiration and creativity, whilst also providing a sense of spontaneity and curiosity that had been absent.
